Corruption Question

Well "a game that can't be played" vs "a game full of hacks" can be the same thing. If it was ever possible, someone could come in and ruin your town to where it's impossible to play, so therefore, it won't be playable [with others, since ACNL's features go to that extent.] But a game full of hacks isn't really playable anyways so..

True, but that was not possible in CF, so I don't the reason for it to happen now.

Has the problem happened to you?

No.

I don't see why if you get the not last save data or whatever shows when it corrupts why there can't be an option to show up that say load last know good save or something like that. Like it would only be an option to revert to a back up if in fact you could not load your game etc. It should back up the original file and keep the last good save to revert to. Not sure if it would be possible since I don't have the slightest clue how to do it but it would be neat :)

I agree. For a game that's sensitive to progress and dependent on building day by day, it seems like there should be a way to go back to the last "good save" in case something goes horribly awry.

By the way, the 3ds, which i LOVE, has the major flaw of that cartridge popping out. i am super gentle with my 3ds, i'm an old woman compared to most of you (i'm in my 30's)... i don't have the extra energy to throw it or whatever. but it has popped out with a gentle jiggle or just holding it wrong for a minute. it's ridiculous. it's the one part that's poorly designed. well, i guess there's one more, which is for some reason, every time i turn the wifi button on, the camera also goes on because i can't figure out where else to hold that thing. (sorry, that last part is off topic.)

There's not much I can say about this as everyone has already put into words exactly how I feel, but it really irritates me that they can't even acknowledge the problem. If they just admitted it and said they were working about it, great, but even just saying yes we have a problem would be appreciated. I don't get why that's so hard?

I'd personally tell them to add lines of code to kill the command of tethering the save ID to game saves. There has to be something that created the ID.

Oh my, that's horrible! That once happened with my Madden game, when it didn't even eject.

ZanessaGaily had said that it may be bad for business, but we as consumers have the right to know if there are defects. While we already know, we make up only, like what, 0.05% of the people who play ACNL?

I have a feeling it probably only has to do with the fear of duping running amuck. :< which is an actual concern, but since you can dupe items anyway (I do not know how/care to learn), I don't see why it would add more risk of that if the knowledge about how to is already out there. I haven't lost many game files in my life time, but in this kind of a game I'd be pretty heartbroken.

Considering someone can already dupe in pokemon by backing up the sd and doing something else I can't remember, I highly doubt this will happen anytime soon.

Especially if NINTY got word of the poke dupe using an SD backup save.
