Confusing Villager Names.. Why Nintendo??

Why does Nintendo have to keep introducing/getting rid of villagers that have the same name? it's so confusing.. i was wondering if you could think of any more..

Hazel in GameCube was changed to Sally in Wild World

Sally in GameCube was changed to Cally in New Leaf

Bliss in GameCube was changed to Caroline in Wild World

Hazel's new to New Leaf
 
Oh... but still Nintendo, why would you have two Lulu's.
 
+ Marcel and Marshal.
When Marcel moved in my first town I was almost convinced it was Marshal since I wasn't reading properly
 
One isnt a villager but what about luna one is the japanese name for ruby the rabbit the other is thsanteater looking character who runs the dream suit
