Its my first time trying this. So I load a new person into my game right? Does the game make me go thru placing a tent? Or do I just go look for a new villagers house? How do I delete the person and villager if its in a bad place? Do I just do the same as when I was restarting my game and looking for the perfect map? Thanks for everyones patience.
Nope, I have tried it multiple times on the same day and no house, weird. I am afraid to load my mayor up. But if I don't I am stuck in limbo I guess. lol
If you don't find a plot, that's normal! You're resetting for a random villager that the game is giving you (not one you adopted/got from Street Pass), correct? What happens is that for up to a week after you have an opening in your town, a new plot has a random chance of showing up each day. On the first day of that week, you have a slight chance of getting a new plot, but there's a chance you won't see anyone. This chance of seeing a new plot increases as the week goes on. On the last day of that week, you're guaranteed to have a new plot with every reset. You're probably still at the beginning of this week.
What I'd recommend doing is either saving as your new character (getting the TPC), and then deleting the new character and going on your mayor from there if you want to play today, or just time traveling ahead if you don't care. The first option saves your town so that it doesn't have a new plot today. If you reset without saving on your new character, you have a chance of seeing a random plot when you load up your mayor. You could just continue resetting as well, but I wouldn't bother until you're closer to the end of the week, since you don't even know if you're going to see a plot today or not.
No worries! That's still normal. Like I said, it's just a random chance of seeing a plot. In this case, the odds are more likely that you won't see a plot since you're probably at the beginning of that week. If you want to be guaranteed a new plot, then you have to either time travel a few more days or just wait it out.

It's good that you asked about there being no plot, since I've seen lots of people just ignore it, load up on their mayor without saving their new character, and then run into a random plot that is now permanent, so it's good that you avoided that!
