Configuring Collectibles

This is probably addressed somewhere, but I am search-engine impaired obviously.

What does the configuring button do? Can someone please explain what it means, or send me the link to where it explains...Thanksssss!

The configure button is for items like user title color change. Those items have an actual use so the configure for them works. Other items might have a configure button but they don't do anything.

Oh I see. So basically I shouldn't push it? lol But buttons are for pushing!

I think I lost a cake that I bought cuz I pushed configure and it went away. :c IDC, cuz it was just a regular cake...but I don't want that to happen again.

I pushed the configure and save buttons on all of my cake items and none of them disappeared. Are you sure you didn't click the discard button?

It was a month ago or so...I may have done something else wrong. I know I bought like 3, because I didn't know they were common at the time. But I wouldn't have pushed discard, since that one's function is pretty obvious. I've been puzzled by the configure button though since then, and there's really not much else that it could have been.
