So basically, I figured I was gonna get a villager from someone's void cause a bunch of people were visiting my town yesterday. So I was gonna cycle the villager or plot reset. So guess what i do? I load my mayor slot. *facepalm* And where does said villager move? TWO BLOCKS AWAY FROM MY HOUSE... Liek really, my house needs its personal space... Too late now. *sigh* At least it's not too bad of a villager.
However, can anyone give me tips on how to guess when a villager will be moving in so I don't make the same mistake??

What I usually do is build temporary PWP's in places that I do NOT want anyone to move in at, and that forces them to put their house down somewhere else.

But overall, if you think a voided villager is gonna move in, then plot reset.

I truly have no idea what a void is and how to clear it. I visited one town and automatically, some ugly villager moved into my tenth spot. And then, when they were moved in, Bob was at my campsite and I've been trying to get him for quite some time. Story of my life

Maple plotted her house right in front of my HOUSE.
I was like
but I'm trying to get her to move the f out

If you have 8 villagers, you're going to get one eventually, regardless if you invited them or not.

If you have 9 villagers you can only get a villager that you invited from the campsite or another town, or a villager from someone's void that you recently streetpassed or connected via Wi-Fi with.

Your void is basically the space on the game that contains the last 16 villagers that moved out of your town but did not go to a new town. Despite what people think, you can't clear it.
