Community Online Hangout Spot (Idea) :)

We all know that we can travel to other people's towns either far away or nearby using the train.

WHAT IF there was a big community hangout spot? Where people from all over the world or just in your country or even just in your city or state could hang out with each other? There could be shops, so you could by fruit or whatever you might need that your shops don't sell. And you could just be online and play with other people?

I though about this the other day and I think it would just be super cool if that was an option
what do you guys think?

I like the idea, in THEORY

but I'm not sure I trust people enough for whats basically MMO function
