Collecting seasonal DIY’s from balloons is incredibly frustrating. I’m doing the Nooks Cranny trick for balloons, and literally all I ever get is 1000 bells or an item of clothing. How can I collect all the DIY’s when this happens and the actual DIY’s are so rare? Nintendo should have thought better on this one...

Honestly yeah it's a grind and a half if you're looking to get all of them. While the balloon system isn't exactly perfect, or even anywhere close to it, I do think it kind of works. I tend to find that I pop a massive amount of balloons while doing other stuff, like building an area or doing my dailies and grinding for material's. So if I had to give you one piece of advice, it would be just not focus too much on the balloons themselves. Instead, maybe try to get them as a side product of just playing the game naturally. You'll probably find that you come across way more while doing other stuff as well, since you're concentrating more on the game. I do wish there was a way to turn the balloon's wooshing sound up, while simultaneously lowering the in game music though. That would honestly make it so much easier to actually pinpoint where there at, and thus waste less time on just trying to find them.
