Club Tortimer Experiences

Not too long ago, I went on Club Tortimer, and there was, if I remember correctly, one boy and two girls there. Now, my character is a cross-dresser, so I went there in a dress, and, people say so many bad things about Club Tortimer, but they were so accepting and nice. They were curious more than anything. We had a real good laugh together after I'd answered all the awkward questions. It's just nice to think, thanks to Animal Crossing, children are becoming more and more accepting of these kind of things.

Anyway, whether good or bad, what experiences have you had on Club Tortimer?

My character wears a dress since it's based off of Loki's outfit in Thor: The Dark World, and it was the most accurate thing I could make, so... I don't see anything wrong with 'crossdressing' in AC (or real life, for that matter). I think it's great that you had a pleasant experience with that at Club Tortimer!

I haven't had any especially wonderful or terrible interactions, but I also haven't really used it very much. I actually haven't used it since my second town, which was months ago, and haven't bothered getting it again. Most of the people I ran into were really just trying to do their own thing and probably just trying to get tours and items they couldn't get at their own island. Only one of them actually wanted to go on a tour with me, but it went fine.

I've been going b there for almost 2 years as a girl. ( I am a female). I have been wanting to go as one of my male alt characters. I want to see if I'm treated differently.

I've met two male cross dressers on club tortimer. They were really nice and had a great sense of humor. One kept telling me funny jokes. I love meeting friendly, funny people.

First time going about a month after the release of the game in the west, I went and had 2 people harrass me with racial and homophobic slurs. Never went again.

well i went too the island one time and this girl was holding me and someone else and she wasnt letting us leave she was asking for bells she eventually she slipped up and the other guy got away after that she just gave up and left too

I've had good and bad times there. People hitting the wifi switch, holding you hostage or fighting with others isn't fun.
I've met a lot of nice players and gone on tours. Early on in the game a nice Japanese player gave me a sandcastle and it completed my island collection. Offered bells but she said no. Just happy to have someone to tour with.

I had a bad visit with a UK player. They wanted to try on my QR code dress. Trying to explain how it worked but she didn't understand.
I just got Pleaseeee a lot. Went to leave and the wifi went out.

So one day in the summer time I went to Club Tortimer and I met a nice Japanese Girl who spoke English. I saw that in her ID she wanted a Cool Globe and I had one in my town so we added eachother and I opened my gates. She rewarded me with 1mil bells and some Japanese-only DLC. We visited eachothers town awhile after that until I restarted my town and created Abstract.

My character crossdresses and stuff like that all the time and I've never gotten any negative comments, for the most part every Club Tortimer trip I've had has been quite enjoyable. I've even made a few longterm friends from it!

This one time though I had a bad experience that was just so weird I can't help but laugh at it. I was Bug Catching on the Club Tortimer Island (For the Encylopedia's sake, my island is groomed for optimal Beetle-Hunting) and this guy comes online, destroys every flower, bush, tree and soon-there-after stump without a word. I was a bit upset but just asked something along the lines of "What are you going for here", to which he replied "I wanted to see if I could". He immediately left, it was just so bizarre that I couldn't even be angry with the guy.

You can block people soo you're never paired with them again. You should go back, most people are nice

I found a girl doing that one time, I gave her some bells, and she started to drop bells and went away, not before telling me I was a kind stranger, it was a test of kindness

You can always just switch the wi-fi thingy, that will send you all back to each others towns.

I have had a lot of good times there, I usually am the one that starts things, I host guessing games for bells, chase people with the axe, make patterns with the shovel, go touring, most people join in the fun

The last time I went, I met a nice girl from Italy. She seemed to speak perfect English. We went on a couple of tours, and exchanged FC's. Then she came to my town. After I gave her the grand tour, she said she wanted us to "best friend" each other.
I said okay and then, being a luddite, I messed it up. I'm hoping to catch her with her gates open sometime so I can barge into her town (rude, I know) and "best friend" her. And apologize profusely.

This is great to hear, I once went on the island with a trans-man and a boy, the boy was hitting on us both to which I told him to leave the island and all, and the trans-boy I was having a great conversation with kept getting bugged by the other boy asking about boobs and what have you, the other boy also asked why he was dressed like a boy with a female character, to which they said they were trans and the boy kept asking gross and weird questions that made us both uncomfortable, all while persisting to hit on us and ask us for pictures. (I never understood why they do that, like, we're in a game where that isn't even possible?) The trans-boy and I ended up sharing tumblrs and stuff cause I was asking him questions about his transition and was genuinely being supportive and nice, and we had things in common so I wanted to be friends. So it was both a good and bad experience at the same time.

The last time I was in Club Tortimer with someone, I had the shortest conversation ever. A girl came to my island and wasn't saying anything, so I said 'Hi' but she did not reply. I then asked her if she wanted to do anything, like a mini game with me. She replied 'no' then just left :/

Lately, it seems like the in thing to do is ask if you want to tour, then they jump off the seat so I end up going alone.

Recently, I was Club hopping and about 5 people did that to me. I didn't really care, but I didn't feel like doing a tour in the first place. I was just trying to be nice.

This one time , a girl asked me to tour with her. She picked the game. When we arrived, she just stood there and let me do all the work. Sometimes she would ask me stupid questions. ( which I ignored ). When we got back to the Island she wanted to tour again and wanted me to pick the tour. Instead of choosing a tour, I just left the Island. Lazy girl.lol..

I understand that completely. Last time I was on, I panicked and flipped the switch because I felt so uncomfortable. I'm still kind of sorry for it, but... I'm kind of nervous around others.

I suppose the last really eventful thing I did in Club Tortimer was meeting up with a few old friends from the past again on there. That was exciting.
