I believe the only way to check is to notice when they stop appearing in your plaza. They appear after 5-6 villagers after them have moved out. I could be wrong though.

Hmm... I'm not really sure then. Have you cycled through a lot of villagers since he moved out?

It's tedious and frustrating for sure. I lost Marshal too even though I felt I was running around several times checking and talking to every villager.

Aww... DW, I have a friend that has maple, and is willing to give her up. She's in the UK though, so you might have to wait awhile. I'll also keep an eye out on maple for you!
