Nobody would ever sell Hybrids for just 500 bells, that'd be dirt cheap and entirely pointless.
Luckypinch made a spelling error in their original post, if you don't like their prices, then don't buy.

No, they didn't originally set the prices to what you thought, they had left out the "k" at the end.
People make mistakes, so just leave her alone and buy elsewhere.
