So I did a bit of a sneaky time travel thing a few days ago so I could get a free spot for Dom to move in. Ruby had asked to move out naturally but was only moving out the following day but Dom was in boxes right now. So I did the thing: skipped a day ahead so Ruby would be gone. Except, my luck being what it is, freakin’ Clay had moved into her empty lot the very next day. Soooo I then spent an hour trying to get someone else to move out and did manage eventually so Dom moved in.
Having lost my Peppy villager Ruby, though, I decided I needed to replace her with someone. The only other Peppy villager Amiibo card I have is Rosie’s and I really, really love Rosie. But I also have Raymond and I have this philosophy of avoiding duplicate races on my island for, uhh... racial diversity? It sounds weird when I write it like that but you know what I mean. It’s not about race, it’s about... n-not having too many cats? I say that but I’d absolutely invite Felyne on my island as a permanent resident if the Monster Hunter collab were to be renewed. But anyway, I eventually decided that having two cats is ok since the remaining 8 villagers are of different races. In my head canon, Rosie is actually gonna be Raymond’s ditzy cousin who‘s hoping to make it big as a pop star on Eureka after hearing from Raymond himself about how cool my island is so it works. Anything can work if you can come up with a wacky headcanon to justify its existence, really.
So yeah, uhh, the bottom line is that Clay’s moving out, I kicked him out using Amiibo. I spoke to him once and then never again so he should be pretty much 100% original? I think he did come from someone else’s void, though, but I myself never gave him anything. If you want him, he’s yours.
