Citizen satisfaction changed from "perfect" to "like living on a landfill"?

So, Isabelle told me that my town had reached "perfect" status. After a day or two, I asked her again and she said that the town was "like living on a landfill" with too much garbage and too many weeds on the floor when I don't have weeds/garbage on the floor. I tried building the flower clock to bump up the citizen satisfaction, but nothing.

What can I do?

I had the same thing happen. I realized that it was because the game recognized the baskets of apples in my apple orchard as garbage. I think any kind of items left lying around count as garbage and reduce your town's perfection. I don't leave stuff on the ground anymore.

I was thinking that the apples I left on the ground could be considered trash, but when I picked them up nothing changed..

your town look fine. best guess I can give you is to pick the clovers, and maybe the mushrooms, too

Mushrooms don't affect it only Candy and fruits and etc. lucky clovers are not counted as waste and check your beach?

She says it if you have a lot of items on the ground, this excludes mushrooms, fruits, flowers, or anything that would naturally be there.

I can confirm that baskets of fruits affect the town's perfection. I'm not sure if single fruits do.
Isabelle said the town was like a landfill. Then, all I did was pick up the fifteen-or-so baskets of apples out of the corner of my town and asked her again, and she then said that the town was perfect.

Taking a stroll through your town right now, I'll list the things that I think may be the problem:

- There's two gyroids in front of Coco's house (not buried but actually placed). I'm pretty sure those count as trash.
- There is a 100 bell coin right next to the rock under Re-Tail.
- There's all kinds of tools and items on your beach.

Aaand that's it I think! I think that if you pick all those things up, you should be good again.

Did you drop any items recently? When you do that, the citizens start saying they're living in a landfill. I do this sometimes to transfer items between characters and if I take too long to pick them up, they say that.

If there's a bunch of items on your beach that can cause "a landfill" opinion on the town.

1) less than 10 weeds (-1 point for each above ten)
2) less than 10 items on the ground (counting perfect fruit, but not counting seashells, regular fruit, flowers, mushrooms, or the "usual" buried items (fossils, gyroids, Pitfall Seeds)) (-1 point for each above 10)
3) no garbage (Empty Can, Boot, Old Tire, Spoiled Turnips) (-3 points for each)
4) no Rafflesia (-30 points)
