Circle Pad Grip Breaking! How Do I Go About Fixing/Replacing?

Is this something I have to send to Nintendo or a specialist, or can I do this easily at home without breaking the 3DS apart?

I'd go to a specialist. If you choose Nintendo, it will cost you almost as much as buying a new 3DS, from what I've heard. :/

My circle pad broke on my last 3DS, but I decided to buy a new one (because it was already really old, and the battery was always dead).

How badly is it broken? Can we get a pic? The level of the damage determines how you'd fix it. (Either repair, or outright replacement)

It's cracked, but it's still on my 3DS. But one good swipe and the grip is probably going to come off.

Some careful doctoring with a pair of tweezers (for leverage) and some super-glue oughta do the job.

If it comes off entirely though you can probably just craft a new one out of duct tape. It'd probably feel better too.

I'd prefer not to tweezer it, I'm afraid of breaking the system. So far it's only an on the top issue.

You could just overlay the entire grip pad with duct-tape and preserve it if you're worried about it breaking.

Try playing without it. Mine came off completely a while back and instead of gluing it back on I decided to just keep playing without it. I actually kind of like it without the circle pad.

also, playing without the circle pad isn't bad either. you'll get used to it.

aw that's the one I have, it's awesome. is the grip actually cracking or just not working properly?

The grip is just cracking. The actual circle pad works fine.

I wish I could put a face or cartoon button there instead of this plain gray button
