Christmas Ornaments ???

I am trying to get christmas ornaments by shaking the decorated pine trees but nothing is falling out.

Has Nintendo locked that option as well till the 15th ?

I thought the pine trees aren't decorated until the 15th. Also the ornaments have about the same rate as getting pinecones/acorns.

The option isn't locked.
1. It must be festive season. That starts Dec 15 in game.
2. You must shake festive Cedar trees.. not normal cedar trees.

I just had to shake the heck out of them till one fell out after the seventh shake

I was surprised how many times I had to shake the one tree to get even one ornament to fall out

Definitely keep shaking them. You'll be surprised how endless some are with ornaments...sometimes it does take a minute though so it's a bit deceiving.
I TT'd to the 15th and was overall able to shake about 2 stacks of each color type from all my decorated pines.

As far as I know, the festive are from balloons from the 15th to Jan 6th. The snowflake diys are throughout winter and from balloons. The frozen and snowman diys come from building perfect snowmen throughout winter.

If you haven't gotten all Snowflake DIYs before the 15th, then those will overlap with Festive DIYs, making it a little more difficult to obtain.

If you haven't gotten all Snowflake DIYs before the 15th, then those will overlap with Festive DIYs, making it a little more difficult to obtain.

I don't have any snowflake DIYs and I won't get them now as I am a Southern Hemisphere island so I have summer shell DIY's at the moment

Good luck! I definitely had a rough time with the fall diys and balloons. So, I just traded mostly for them and the festive ones since it's just been such a busy semester for me. Hopefully you'll have better luck!

Should you miss any there are quite a few traders in Nook's Cranny offering spare recipes for only 5 tbt each. I definitely liked obtaining them on my own but it was worth it to avoid the stress.

Maybe I'm lucky but I stumbled upon two festive trees (out of like 5) that once the ornaments start to fall down, I noticed how they just keep falling down a limitless amount, until I got tired of shaking lol and decided to stop.
This never happened to me before with other trees when shaking for acorns, tree branches etc. Normally after a certain amount of shakes, there wouldn't be anything more falling down.

I think don’t quote me but the drop rate for the ornaments is quiet low which may be why not many are dropping

Yeah it’s really annoying with the diys. I really want the illuminated ones but I don’t want to do the grind lol. I wish Nintendo would had a feature where you could buy them like with the harvest day diys

Yeah that’s probably what I’ll do. The balloons are just to hit and miss. And if your wanting to decorate your island ready for Christmas that makes it worse
