Christmas in the southern hemisphere

So I'm just curious... Anybody who TTs know how it works?
It's winter for me now and I've seen some pics of the snowy cedars with lights on it, and if you shake them you get ornaments.
Will this happen for us sometime soon, even tho it's obviously not christmas season, or will the game have something similar in the summer for us, like real life? That would be nice from Nintendo
