Okay I sent the bells this the first time I'm buying a collectible from a user so I'm not really sure what happens next

Well, if you are new at handling collectibles, this is how you send. You click on the Shop Tab, go to Inventory, and then Gift the person you want to send it. You put the username of the person you are sending it to by the Recipient, and then you can ask people to add a cute Message if you like specifics.
The forum isn't circulating much collectible wise at the moment since it's kinda inactive, but just wait until New Horizons comes out and it'll be booming with people.
I'm sure random events will still pop up and stuff like right now actually lol.
