Sorry is Mitzi still in boxes? I doubt it but thought I'd ask because she's still listed on the first page
Yes, she is still in boxes. I typically do that as a note to myself when I stop cycling for the day so I can easily and quickly remember who is in boxes.
Ah, I'd like to lurk for Tangy! :3
Forgive me if I'm doing anything wrong. I tried to read the rules but this is new to me. D:
EDIT: Hm, I only have one question; reading the rules, it seems like anyone can claim Tangy first once she's in boxes; even if they aren't one of the lurkers? So lurking doesn't give you any special priority, just a courtesy notice. A quick enough non-lurker can still snag her first! Is that right?
I think that's what you meant... So I'll just have to be quick!
Nup, you didn't do anything wrong. And, yep to your question; I always VM lurkers before I actually make the post that a villager is in boxes, so lurking does give an advantage. I also try to wait for at least one lurker to be online before posting a villager in boxes (though I'll still send out VMs, since invisible mode has occurred).
However, since I don't do reservations and want to at least try to be fair to everyone (whether they discovered the thread two days ago or seconds ago), lurking doesn't automatically give priority.
Sometimes, other users will wait until the 30 minutes go by and a lurker hasn't claimed their villager, or will ask for the villager saying that they'll take them if the lurker doesn't want them or can't take them. So, it's also up to the courtesy of other users (I occasionally browse to see if one of my dreamies has appeared in someone else's cycling town, and if I see one in boxes and being lurked for, I don't post; others are the same way).
Of course, that all depends on how much they want a particular villager.
But, short answer: you're correct; lurking just gives an advanced warning and a slightly better chance at posting first rather than priority.
