Chief wants to leave but won't ping. Any tips??

Quick question. Lobo told me that Chief wants to leave town. I've chatted lots to him but he just wont tell me. I need to tell him not to move! Do you have any tips on getting villagers to ping??

Have you tried saving and quitting, then loading the game again and going straight to Chief? He should ping then for you. That's what I do when I hear the rumour but the actual village doesn't ping straight away.

Hmm.. I tried saving and reopening, but he wasn't the first villager I spoke to. I'll try that now! Thank you.
