I'm not sure if this was already discovered, but I think the moving wallpapers glitch out any posters hung on them. I tried changing the wallpaper, but the poster was completely gone.
I'm pretty sure it should've told you it's getting placed into your storage. A message like the one you get when you're getting a visitor should've popped up.
