Are cherries the most common native fruit in the Animal Crossing games?

I have one town in New Leaf, one town in City Folk, one town in Wild World and one town in Animal Crossing Gamecube. All of them have cherry as native fruit.

Is it just coincidence, or is it very common?

i restared a lot to get cherry tress in my second town

I've never really noticed any one fruit appearing more or less than others when it comes to making towns. In my first Wild World town, my fruit was peaches, and in the second it was apples. In my first New Leaf town it was pears, and in my current one it's cherries. I guess it really just depends on luck and probability on which fruit you get, so it's likely just a coincidence.

I think it's random, in Wild World and my New Leaf main game I had/have apples as my fruit.

For me pears and oranges are the rarer fruits as I've not had them show up in my towns.

I have cherries in Pripyat, oranges in my second town and apples in my Wild World town. Every time I restart my second town, I get something different.

It's a coincidence. I'm in the same boat except with ORANGES. I had them in the original, Wild World, City Folk and New Leaf as my native fruit like you. I HATE oranges though! I hate the fruit, I hate the color and I especially hate how perfect oranges look. I spent hours resetting my town trying to get a good layout and when I finally did, you can guess what fruit was waiting for me... At that point, I just wanted to play (got the game the day it came out in the US) so I gave up but I do regret not getting a native fruit I liked. I think I'm cursed to be around oranges; I even live in Orange County.

nah it's a coincidence. i have one town with pears, one with cherries and one with peach. while map resetting i've seen that it's pretty random too ^^

Exactly this. In City Folk I've had apples, in WW pears, and in New Leaf I have cherries. In my second town I have apples.

I'm pretty sure every fruit has an equal chance of appearing, so it's just a coincidence. You have a 1 / 625 chance of getting cherries four times in a row, but enough people play the game that it has to happen to someone, so I guess you are just lucky or unlucky depending on how you look at it.

I have restarted my game about 5-10 times between both towns and I haven't come across a single town with cherries as the native fruit. I mostly get pears (which is Sprites native fruit).

Every time I reset my 2nd town I always get pears. Its annoying and other types of fruits are rare for me to get.

that sounds exactly like me; every time i've reset a town its ALWAYS oranges. I spent hours map resetting, and i found a map i finally liked, but sure enough, i got oranges. I also hate how perfect oranges look. I wish i had literally any other fruit, but my map is pretty cool so i guess its worth it.
