I finally beat Ganon's tower after months, man what a relief, now all I have to do is defeat Ganon, but that won't take as long as beating the tower, i've beaten ALTTP before, but that was on a rom and using infinite life cheat, I figured if i'm using a rom might as well cheat my way through the game, however, this is the reason I got the VC version, to do it legit with no illegal roms or cheats, and man, the hours i've spent trying to beat this, and all the frustration, it sure takes alot out of a person, but it was worth every second, it's such a great game.
Also, tips on defeating Ganon anyone?

Keep swingin' that sword Boi.
You've never played ALTTP have you? It's not that simple. You have to hit him, while dodging flaming bats, flying pitchforks, and energy balls. Not only that, once it gets to the second part of the battle, all of the lights are off, so you have to keep lighting the torchs while dodging his attacks, and then attack him before the lights go out again.

Yeah Yeah, I have played A Link to the Past before. I know how painfully hard it is to kill Ganon

700 or 800 points, I forget, and it is worth it, it's one of the best SNES games out there, and one of the best of the 2D Zelda games, it is on the difficult side, like to the point where you might break your controller, but it's still fun.

Well i'm not sure if you'd like ALTTP or not, it's one of the hardest Zelda's maybe even harder than the first.
First Dungeon is hard.
Second Dungeon is harder.
Third Dungeon is even harder.
Fourth Dungeon is frustrating.
Fifth Dungeon is even more frustrating.
And it just gets harder and harder, and don't even get me started on the bosses.

To answer your question, I got this from gamefaqs

Open the spoiler
<div class='spoiler_toggle'>Spoiler: click to toggle</div><div class="spoiler" style="display:none;">After this Ganon appears and goes, along with you, to the Pyramid of Power for
the final battle. Before jumping into the hole you might want to return to the
Light World and go to the witch's hut to buy four Blue Potions, just a
suggestion. Maybe two blue, two red, whatever. Ganon is a reasonably
difficult boss, but I guess that's because he's the boss of the game. With all
those potions it's going to be pretty hard to lose. What you're trying to do
pretty much is be really offensive for this battle. A lot of the time if
you're trying to avoid all his hits you'll find yourself running around too
much and never attacking. I say to hell with being hit, use your judgment and
try to dodge, but if you're going to be hit, then fine, it's worth it to hit
him a bunch of times. Just stick with your sword for the beginning of the
battle. His only real attack is throwing his trident. After awhile he begins
using spinning fireballs, stay in the middle of this and keep attacking. The
hardest attack to dodge is the phoenix that flies around directly at you.
Don't worry too much about it and keep attacking with your sword. After awhile
he will mention something about the dark and that's your cue to equip the Fire
Rod and hope you have lots of magic power. When it goes dark use the Fire Rod
to light both torches at the bottom. At this point you have to dodge the
phoenix and hit the boss once, it's harder than it sounds. After hitting him
once his colour will change to blue as if he is frozen, switch quickly to the
Bow and fire an arrow at him. With Silver arrows, it shouldn't take more then
four or five shots to eliminate this boss permanently and end the game.</div>

Do you have the Cane of Byrna or the Magic Cape? Those items make you invincible but they require lots of magic to use.

I've beaten Ganon several times on the VC and GBA versions of ALTTP. All it took was a little patience.

Use the spin attack, have the flame rod equipped when not using Silver Arrows, get the 1/2 magic usage power up and watch his movements carefully. Gannon, surprisingly, wasn't hard for me.
