Just caught 3 in the past 2 hours. Its rained before but this time it was a proper thunderstorm, does that make a big difference?

I don't think it makes a difference if it's raining or storming, you just got lucky!

Thunderstorm vs regular rain makes no difference, I caught 2 the first time it drizzled on my island. Congratulations! That’s one you don’t have to worry about now lol.

It's just up to RNG. Sometimes in video games RNG isn't your friend, but sometimes it's super generous.
