What is the best way to make sure you have everything Catalogued? ive got the Silver Badge, and working towards my Gold, bht how do i know how much more i need, or even WHAT do i need, to finish?
how did you make sure you had everything there was to get to receive the Gold Badge?
Personally, I went through MoriDB and added everything that wasn't in my catalog to a list. Then when I wanted to work on my catalog, for instance by buying things, I would search for it on MoriDB, and buy it if it was on the list.
^ Yup, MoriDB is a very good tool, but I think that you'll have to kinda know what you don't have or else you'll have to look up a lot of furniture in the catalog.
So if you remember quite a bit what you already have then yeah just add the things you think you don't have in a MoriDB wishlist (or set, whatever) and if you're not sure just look it up in game!
I went through my in game catalogue and went through every item I had and added it to my catalogue on moridb. Then every time I went shopping, I would look each item up to make sure I had it and if I didn't, I'd buy it. Same with anything my villagers offered me. I'd give them whatever they asked for if what they were offering was something not in my catalogue. Also, if your villagers ask you for fruit, give them a foreign perfect fruit (unless they specifically ask for your native fruit, then give them a perfect native fruit), and if they ask for furniture, give them an expensive exclusive unorderable furniture and they will always give you a random item that you don't have in your catalogue yet. If you're impatient to wait for all the items to come out naturally in your stores, you can put a wishlist up on moridb of all the things you don't have and just buy it from people here in the community.
This is correct. Luckily, you don't need to catalog everything, just 80%. I feel like I went about it the hard way because I'd already been playing for so long before I started trying for the gold badge. At that point, I thought it would take way too long to go through everything I had and create a list on MoriDB, so I just checked the shops every day and if I saw something I thought I might not have I checked my catalog at the T&T. Then, if I didn't already have it cataloged, I would go back and buy it.
It took forever to get from the silver badge (50%) to the gold badge (80%), but you could get it done faster if you bought or cataloged items from people here on the forums.
In my very first town, I didn't try to achieve this but just kept shaking trees, doing chores for my babies etc. and of course buying anything from shops, then one day this old dandy guy gave me the badge. After getting this gold badge, I (finally) started working on completing the full catalog in my other town. First I made a split list of all the items by using wiki. Like, "tops", "hats", "furniture" and so on. Then went through checking my catalog at T&T, checked off the spread sheet if I already have it. And, after that, it's the usual course - I just check my shops everyday and buy it when I find something I didn't have.
Though, after amiibo update, it looks like those items that are added in the game after update are included in the "everything". So if you're trying to achieve 100% full catalog, you may need to catalog those items too, I think, which is a bit too much work - that you even buy stuff that you don't actually use, right? I'm planning to offer the service to let people catalog those stuff, but no sure at this moment. Maybe.
