Catalog Badge Question

Currently, according to MoriDB, I have 504 (not including gyroids) items remaining until a complete catalog. Now my question is, how much more items do I need to catalog before i get the badge? And do Gyroids count towards that badge?

A complete catalog is about 3250 items [source]. The gold badge would be placed at around 2681. And I think that gyroids count. Anything in the original log of items counts, I think. That basically means non-DLC items.

Gyroids count. I'm not sure how many items there are in total but you need to get all (or at least very close to that) the items you can get within the game (so DLC and region exclusives don't count, I think).
