Hey guys! I'm sure this has been asked before but my searching skills suck and I'm not getting positive answers from Google, urg. Anyways, my mom now wants her own town to be the mayor in so I was just thinking of downloading another game for her. Are there any ill effects with this? I've seen the words "corrupted" and "you'd need a new system/SD card" thrown around. Also, how would streetpass/spotpasses work?

Thanks again!

I have both downloaded and cartridge copies on one 3 DS. The downloaded one saves to the SD card and the cartridge copy saves on the cartridge, so there's no conflict between the two. I don't use Street Pass, so I can't answer that part of your questions.

I have Spot Pass turned on for only one of my games atm, so I can't help you with that, either.

But, I can assure you that I have had absolutely no problems with running both versions on the same 3 DS.

I have both copies and it's been fine so far. As far as Street Pass, I think it just recognizes your 3DS.. not sure about that one.

I only have the digital copy but I have never had a problem with it. If you are using the same 3DS, I would go for the opposite (digital or cartridge) one for your mother. The digital saves to the SD card and I think it takes just slightly over 6000 blocks of memory so you'll have to make sure you have enough memory for it.

I have both and no issues, I download the DLC separately on each and with streetpass, it passed on the details from the last town I'd played (but I'm not sure if I had it switched on for my digital or not, will have a play with it but I've only ever had 1 streetpass anyway!)
