I had a town for a year and a half and after I lost that through corruption I just haven't been able to keep a town. I keep one for a few weeks and really enjoy it but then I get bored and start again. I'm sick of all the introductory stuff and I miss my old town.

The thing is, there's three different maps that I like. One that's identical to the one I lost then two others I quite like, but whichever one I get (after days of resetting) I compare it to the other two e.g if I get the one with the vertical waterfall then suddenly the one with the horizontal waterfall is so much better so I reset and then it just happens again. The grass is always greener I guess.

Any advice on how to just stick with a town and stop being like this? I want to enjoy the game like I used to with my old town?

Best advice is take a break for a while. This has happened to me and the thing that helped the most was to stop playing for a bit. Then when you pick it up again it'll have a fresh feeling to it :>

I had the same problem, and after a while you'll just realize that you never get to play and that's not really the point of the game.
I'd suggest that if you have three maps that you can't decide between, you should think of a few more criteria. Like if you prefer round grass you can trick yourself into thinking that the map you choose having round grass is a sign for you to keep it.

If you see an imperfection in your latest town, try not to see it as a flaw, but as something you have the skills to work around (because you do). It can and will be beautiful if you dedicate some time to it, and eventually that flaw will no longer be a flaw. Every town starts off as an empty canvas. All of them have equal potential to be awesome.

Why don't you take some pictures and show it here? Perhaps the community's opinions will help you decide better. :^) I did the exact same thing last week - I had maintained a town for a year and decided I didn't like it anymore because 7 couldn't work with it so with some persuasion from my friend I reset. It took a while to get a map and the process was tedious, but as silly as this sounds, once you find the map you will know. In a way it will speak out to you. Pick whatever feels right! And don't forget to take breaks!

I get the same feeling too, but I know if I put work into it, I can make my town look beautiful. Who knows? Maybe you'll end up liking it even better then your last town, the best thing to do is to not pick out your towns flaws but accept them, and then once you build up your town you'll forget ever disliking the map, and if you still feel unhappy with it you can always delete it. That's what I like about the game, there's always an option to start over. :)

I had the same problem with Corvidae, one of my five towns. The other four just really came together, but Corvidae just had neither rhyme nor reason to me. I debated scrapping it, but my daughter made the most beautiful flag and the mayor shares my real name. It also has some of my most beloved villagers, Del, Pancetti, Ruby, Carmen. So I was very conflicted. I finally just decided to do nothing and simply wait for divine inspiration. It took a while, a long while. But it ultimately came in the form of my cranky Del, who suddenly in a week's time requested almost the entire Zen pwp set. I set up a complete Zen garden just for him, all the pwp's and bamboo. Racks of rice frame his home along with bamboo and behind his house are all the pwp's in a cul-de-sac. I am so tickled by it and it brought life to Corvidae. It has now opened up the rest of the town for me and made me excited to be there. Hang in there, sweetie. Something will come to you. For now, just enjoy the villagers and have some fun. Good luck!

I suggest taking a break that's what I am doing. If you cant do that, say to yourself after you chose a map. I do not know how to reset. It actually helped me. And you will always compare your new town to your old town. I do that everytime. so I would chose a map that will make you not want to reset the least. hope I helped

Take some time to think about which map you like best; compare the pros and cons and figure out whether you want to recreate your old town, or start over and stick to making a different town. If you think you'll really miss your old town and constantly compare your new town to your old one, then I suggest recreating it :3 You can always add new things here and there like you would have if you still had your previous town, so things won't get boring.

I think my suggestion is more enabling than helping, but I love starting new towns, themed towns, planning my fav villagers, so...I bought another cartridge. And am considering a third one! I think considering the amount of time I spent on my former town, and how much I loved my villagers, $30 was well worth it! So, my advice is to have all three. GET YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT. :D

Don't buy a third one till you are far along in your second town!
Bluebell is almost complete dreamie and PWP wise, and very clowe to done landscaping and I love my launch day town, but I really like my second town Rosebud which I am actively building. However I have no freaking clue what to do with my third cartridge so I am waiting till I get a but further in Rosebud till I begin my third town which I believe will be called Stitches

Oh that's a good point! By the time I started Gamine, I had done everything in Thistle. I had Gracie's, and a lot of the catalog filled. That being said, I'm redoing a lot of my villagers and landscaping but it's nice to be able to transfer bells and tools!
