Can't get item to appear in villager's home

I've been gifting both Roald and Wade a round space heater and I've given them like 10 each but they STILL won't put it in their house ;-;
Do I just have bad luck or do the villagers not put specific items in their houses?

According to this guide, the Round Space Heater is considered to be a seasonal winter item which means that they won't put it out in any other season, unfortunately.

There are certain items that villagers won't use no matter what, most notably DIY worktables and large stereo systems; this is just a seasonal one.
