Can't Download Present?

At first I could download the monthly present but for a few months now I keep getting this message from Pelly:
"Oh my. I'm very sorry... It seems the access point you're connected to isn't giving out any presents at the moment. You might want to try changing your settings. Could help."

Is anyone else getting this message? Is it just that they're no longer giving out items? My internet settings haven't changed since I got the game a few months ago...

Ahh I guess maybe so... though I wish the message would be clearer, instead of making people think there's something wrong with the access point and settings!

They stopped give them out a few months back Here in the US but on September 1st in Japan they also stopped.

they ARE still sending out presents in North America-- they just don't download directly to your 3DS as DLC items anymore. you should be getting letters from Nintendo describing what's available via Nintendo Zone-- today began the Flashy Flower Sign.

In order to obtain it, you have to go to a nintendo zone location (for some, its McDonalds, Burger King, Barnes Noble, or home Depot), connect your internet to "attwifi" while your AC remains unloaded, then once connected, load up AC, go to the post office, ask for gift. connect thru the internet settings, not the separate wi-fi settings.

^^^ Yeah what he said, I've been getting the letters- but it's really inconvenient to most people in my opinion. But I can't connect to the nintendo zone, so It's difficult and I haven't been able to since. It sucks.

That's very kind of you, and yeah I agree, it's a major inconvenience. But nintendos got their hands full I'm sure.

All I'm hearing is that those of us in Australia have been forgotten. See, there aren't any 'Nintendo zones' or anything like that here. Very, very rarely a DS game like Pokemon will have a special release at EB Games, but nothing consistent. Anything that isn't currently marketing has nothing.

I don't even know where I could find a Nintendo Zone nearby where I live and yeah it's pretty inconvenient to do it that way

I'm pretty sure you can also change your home wifi settings temporarily and get the Nintendo Zone items, you have to change the name and the security settings. I got it to work once but I am legit too lazy to do it for most items, womp womp. But if you google '3ds nintendo zone trick' it should come up how to do it.
