It's a pretty simple concept that I prefer to follow... don't get mad in the first place. I take a majority of everything spoken to me with a grain of salt. I do not discredit that which is said to me, but at the same time I do not take said words to heart until either I: Become more acquainted with the person or can validate what they say.
Also when someone's mad at me their actions and words are stressed, making them say and do things they wouldn't ordinarily, which is another reason I don't get mad easily.
