Can you plant trees next to brushes?

I know you can plant bushes and they don't die next to trees..
but can you plant trees next to bushes without them dying?

I tried once but they died D: I don't wanna waste my cedar saplings nor dig up my holly :c want to be 100% sure!

You can plant trees next to bushes.

Maybe post a screenie of where you're trying to plant? There might be another reason it dying. There's also "dead spots" programmed into the game (I've never come across in my town but have seen in others) so it could be that too.

I've found one dead spot in arcadia but yeah :c I'll try plant fruit trees and if they die, I'll have to dig my holly up D:

mm you could always try replanting one at a time, oftentimes if things are sandwiched together, the middle stuff dies. but if you plant one at a time, they have a higher chance of life (if the area isn't a dead zone). good luck!

also remember that you can only have 12 trees/bushes connected at once or else the 13th one will not grow

no she didnt ask for that. but she was wondering why her bushes wont grow so I was saying that they wont grow if she has 13 or more connected.
