So my nephew who is turning 4 is getting a DS.

Yes, I know that is extremely stupid.

But I need to know some games that would be good for him, because my mom keeps asking me if all of these games are good, and I keep telling her I don't know any good little kids games, and told her not to buy licensed games because they are usually crap.

So, any suggestions?

Get him pokemon mystery dungeon fo sure. The plan? Get him addicted so he won't annoy you. :l

A 4 year old with very low reading skill sure would enjoy a pokemon game. >_<

And I need the games to be cheap, because my mom already said that she is not going to spend 35 bucks on a game that he won't understand.

Is it simple and not requiring much reading or basically knowing how to do anything?

Yeah, I did play Pokemon games when I was little too, but I at least knew about pokemon, he has never watched it or really given it any attention.

Note that I would never buy a licensed game for someone to make them happy.

Licensed games are usually complete crap, even for little kids.
