Can you get house plot on event day?

Is it possible to get a house plot on event day? let's say for example I adopt a villager on the 7th but Festivale is on the 8th. Will I still get their house plot?

I don't think anything like that happens on event day. The villagers don't even chat with you properly until the day is over....haven't had that happen myself but I'd think nobody would move in until the next day

Yep, I'm currently plot resetting Ankha and it's festivale. So yes, you can.
