Can you get a tan on the island?

I would really like for my character/mayor to represent me more accurately. Can I just go to the island regularly to keep up a tan to match my skin color?

I think there is. I'm not sure if I remember correctly but personally, I spent 15 mins exactly each day for about a little over a week? Or maybe a week exactly to have he darkest tan ^^
