Can you catch jellyfish?

Jellyfish can't be caught in ACNL not by diving or fishing. They could be caught in other versions of AC for a short time every August, but in NL they're just in the ocean to sting you.

There is no way to catch a jellyfish in ACNL. I have a complete museum and have never caught a jellyfish. If you are going to try to catch a jellyfish by fishing in this game, you are going to be spending a long, long time looking for one.

Yeah, unfortunately in New Leaf you cannot catch jellyfish as they made them obstructive little menaces for diving.

Which is a shame because they're really cute as a pet and whatnot. :< I have one in my gamecube home.

I always found it strange that there were fish and bugs in the game that you couldn't catch. If jellyfish and cockroaches show up in the town why can't they be put in the museum?
