Can you assess fossils at someone else's museum?

Of course the day my museum is closed for remodel, one of my extra nook mile quests is to have fossils assessed. Go figure right? lol

Can you get them assessed at someone else's island? I have never tried it before. I know you of course cannot donate to someone else's museum.

Considering the host can't get fossils assessed while people are over, it's safe to assume the visitor also can't unfortunately.
