can we talk more about the dock/boardwalk?

that dock in the new trailer that the villager throws bait off makes me wonder about so many things. obviously we'll be able to use it to fish by ourselves and with friends since it's so long. but i also wonder what other potential uses there could be.



if diving makes a return (likely in my opinion) this will be a fun jumping off point. but since we're on an island wouldn't it be neat if occasionally different boats showed up? joan could dock on sundays, gulliver's ship from pocket camp could make a cameo, amiibo card villagers could arrive after calling them.

not to mention the fact that this boat definitely wasn't on the map during the E3 demo. something this big would dfeinitely show up, right? this could be a preview of the the return of public works projects, or it could simply be an island feature unlocked after we hit certain milestones? could we paint it different colors like Dodo Airlines? ah the suspense is killing me!

There's endless possibilities. I hope they make use out of the dock too instead of it just being "there" for fishing/diving.

I'm really curious about the dock too. There could be so many possible things that could happen with it, right? I would love it if diving did make a return in New Horizons and I don't see why it wouldn't. I think it's really neat that you can fish at the end of it and your idea of visitors arriving on that dock is really cool. I'm just way too curious myself now. xD

Aww I would love for different types of boats to dock there depending on the day. Maybe like specialty vendors? AHH just thinking of RVs being little boats instead makes me so excited too. I'm really not opposed to that idea, since it makes a lot more sense than a camper van on an island.

Im hoping its just one of many things you can build on the island that give you access to more places that can be explored. Theirs s much you could do with that dock. I don't think they would use it for Amiibo, considering the airlines is how you get to the island. But it would be really awesome if you could build a boat and unlock other islands that can be used for exploring and finding other fruits, bugs, rocks, fossils, fish, etc. I also like the idea of taking the boat to areas where you can go diving.

Crossing my fingers and hoping its not just some dock you can fish off of. That would be such a waste.

I want to speculate and say you can build it with materials and it can also be used as a bridge as well as a dock

I brought this up the other day and no one cared.

I'm hoping we can build the dock anywhere and based off the map shown at treehouse, there was no dock so I'm guessing we are going to be able to do so.

I would love it if special visitors like Pascal, Gulliver, Redd or Katrina would have their own boats and
using the dock to come over visiting your island. And I also hope you can decide where you want the
dock to be build. After all, if they already give us some much freedom here, I sure hope you can do
this.

Otherwise, if Tortimer's Island is still going to be a thing in this game, maybe here Kapp'n will show
up there with his boat, offering to bring you to said island. Or maybe you can have your own boat
and being able to visit other small islands which are around your island. That would be pretty neat.
