can we have more custom clothings for males?

ok, so im rather slightly pissed at the fact that majority of nice looking custom clothes are catered to the females like i know a large percentage of playerbase are females but hello, there are guys too. sometimes I really want that cute design on a sweater so my rep could wear them. Yes yes i know there are nice looking ones for the boys too but im talking and complaining about quantity here. The struggle of a male player...

I feel you. Sometimes I don't even know why I bother visiting Mable and Sable lol. I know I won't buy any of the dresses, but maybe some other villager will like them. Like Apple, I've given her an entire wardrobe with red dresses mainly because I "can't" wear them. I know I can, I just wouldn't do it in real life, so I won't put them on my island representative either.

The game seems to mimic real life, actually. Real male clothing is often just the same basic shirt/sweater style just in different materials, colours or prints. I can see why it would be tough for them to introduce more interesting clothing articles. I've tried to think of stuff I was missing myself, and it was tough!

I feel like they went with all kinds of pretty and cute dresses for female, and tried to compensate with costume stuff to also fit male characters (not that they are exclusive to either, of course).

And this is also part of the reason for my second character, and why she's a female. That way I have a good purpose for all those items I'd otherwise never end up doing anything with

I do remember this struggle. Back before I realized and came out as a trans woman. It was always frustrating for me to find something good to wear (especially since I never wear any jeans/denim, so my outfits were always bland/bad IMHO.)

I do feel for you men though. I do think men/boys should have just as many stylish outfits as us girls do, but I do think it is harder given your limited types of clothing types. All you men "can" wear (based on society... which btw screw that wear whatever you want in real life. I actually enjoy seeing men/boys in real life wear skirts/dresses) are pants/shorts, and for tops; t-shirts, long-sleeve shirts, tank tops, button downs, hoodies, and jackets. And that limitation does make it hard for people to make stylish "male" clothes that don't come off as something for a girl/woman.

hey so I make clothes for males and females. I do charge, but if you guys need some clothes for males I'm happy to oblige.

Agree entirely. I know of one or two stores that sell things that aren't just very simple, but that instantly means they're more expensive as well At least we get comfortable shirts/sweaters & pockets...

Yeah that is something I hate about clothing that society says that is for girls, and that is the fact that we girls don't get any decent pockets >.< We are forced to have purses, because we cannot fit anything in our pockets.. or at least not that much.

I know what you mean. It's the same way in The Sims, too. I guess society thinks guys don't care about fashion. Maybe not as much, but we do like more options when it comes to clothes. Maybe I should make some Halloween shirts and hoodies.

It doesn't help that they cut the male clothes content from NL. I would give up all the color variations of clothing for different styles.

This is really something that games in general suffer from. All the clothing choices for the males are terrible while the females have great choices. And it's not a matter of 'basic' because some of the designs for the males are so asinine and make them look like circus performers or some degenerate hobo.

Like I struggled to find a clothe style I like for my male pokemon trainer in Sword/Shield. Like why do I need some stupid spiky leg patch near my leg. I just want a regular pair of jeans dammit.

As a male, it doesn't make sense that my villagers gift me female clothes. The male/female option should do more than just affect cosmetic attributes, it should also affect everything else in the game potentially tied to that selection.

As a female we get gifted “male” clothes too.

Definitely should have more options for anyone who doesn’t want costumes or dresses.

I am always on the lookout for plainer tops and pants that I can mix and match! I find that there are quite a few cute custom designs on sweaters that don't read as female. You have to look for them a little bit. I just find it sad that I can't put up other people's custom designs in my Able Sisters. They have to come and do it themselves! Sometimes you just can't track the designer down to ask.
