Can we do the villager house exterior trick with amiibos?

I was just wondering because i wanma give tex chesters exterior of his house so i was wondering if i could use an amiibo to do that trick.. ive never used an amiibo but im geussing yah?

Yes, it definitely works. My friend managed to do this accidentally. As long as Tex moves into Chester’s plot and you skip over the empty plot day (either by not playing of TTing) you should produce the house exterior glitch you desire

Nope; you just need to tell the Amiibo camper (Tex) to ask Chester to leave once Tex is ready to move to your island!

Was it? I haven’t heard of this being fixed, but there’s been a lot of recent updates so...

According to here, the glitch has been fixed.

I also heard that the glitch was fixed but I don't know for sure

This is how I accidentally ended up with Dobie living in Hamphrey's house, but this was within the first month of the game coming out. If the glitch has been patched, it certainly hasn't changed Dobie's house back to normal (he still has Hamphrey's exterior, and he was moved in via amiibo).

I don’t think they could fix existing villager exterior glitches without simply removing the villager from your island, which would make a lot of players very angry. They did do that with an earlier glitch fix, but the exterior glitches is only fixed moving forward.
