So I know that supposedly villagers will use wall items that you give them, excluding wallpaper. Other players on here have confirmed that for me. But what about removing one wall item for another? Fuchsia in my town was my first uchi and one of my starters. Her basic home featured the kiddie furniture which i really disliked, so I had the idea of trying to swap it out. Basically I made all of the block furniture and colored it to be pastel instead of kiddie colors. I have convinced her to swap out every single piece of kiddie colored furniture for pastel furniture, except for her clock. No matter how many days in a row I have given her a pastel colored block wall clock, she refuses to swap out the kiddie version. She won't even put the new clock up in addition to her old one. Should I just try a different wall item? I always gift wrap her presents because I heard they like them more if you do, I've tried mailing it as well. She just never uses the pastel clock. Everything else swapped perfectly and so easily! She can keep her little cork board and that weird lantern from the tent she used to have but this clock bugs the heck out of me!

Any thoughts on what to try next? It's the last piece of furniture in her house that really doesn't match or looks bad!

Bump. Anyone know? I don't think this has been answered yet on here.

I've tried several times to gift Skye a sky blue cute wall clock and she never seems to hang it up. I assume they can't/won't use them, similar to wallpapers, floors and rugs. They do use doorplates though, and those are classified as wall items. It's confusing.

Thanks for your reply! Someone once said that their villagers used the floral swag items that they gifted them. Maybe only certain wall items work?

i have never been successful with getting a villager to use a wall item tbh! try as i might, i'm in the same sit as you. i suspect its similar to wallpapers and flooring. they just don't like them/know what to do with them lol

Thanks for letting me know! I'm hoping eventually someone will come forward and say that it's possible. A while back one member here said they got their villagers to use the floral swag diy item they crafted but that's all I've gotten on the situation

I haven’t tried it myself, but I’m so sure I saw somebody mention that they succeeded in changing their villagers wallpaper! It was within the last few days.

Seems like getting them to put up wall items (and wallpaper?) could be possible, but that it’s just much harder to achieve!

hmmmm. not to point fingers but changing a villagers wallpaper has never been done outside od hacking or glitching, in all my years of AC experience and i've seen absolutely no mention from anyone for this with NH either. 🕵

Like I said, I’m just relaying what I read. If I stumble across it again I’ll share it here.
