Can villagers pick up visitors custom designs??

I wasn't annoyed about the whole villagers know your visitors without even talking to them thing, but this is kinda a step too far. I've gotta admit it is kinda hilarious though

Has anything random happened like this to anyone else? Any funny stories?

Exactly. Villagers who were adopted from another island have the chance to bring custom patterns (that are submitted or hanged on Able Sister's store) even when they move out.

This was also the same case back in New Leaf.

This was also the same case back in New Leaf.

I think I vaguely remember that from New Leaf. I knew that if they were wearing a custom design at the time of adoption that it would carry through. She was not wearing a custom design at the time of adoption in my case.

I think she's a bit glitched as she changes back and forth between her og clothes and the custom design. It seems to be linked to when I visit someone's island or open my gates and close them. She returned to her normal self after the Leif update, now she changes all the time lol

I think it’s just really that in this game, they have multiple sets of clothes that the would wear. A lot of my villagers wear their original clothes and switch out to custom patterns from time to time. Most of my villagers are generated within my game.

yep, they have multiple sets! and can get them from designs shared in the able sisters' shop, too. if you go to a villager's house and open a dresser of theirs, you can also see their outfits. (it shows me a random one each time.)

i know i've had a tough time getting them to stop wearing the custom design i don't like, though! even if i report it to isabelle, i'll see that villager wearing it again later.
