Can villagers move out without asking?

The title is pretty self-explanatory; can villagers decide to move out without asking beforehand?
For example I just time traveled a month ahead and one of my villagers (Tasha) had a thought bubble. I talked to her and she said that decided to move out. I panicked and closed the game without saving and reset the date. So was she just going to be in boxes the next day or would she have asked still?

No, in order for them to move you have to talk to them. Unlike the previous titles where they can move without your knowledge.
