Can villagers move back in?

I didn't realize Sprinkles wanted to move, and when I started up the game today she was gone TT_TT Can I get " a new one" in another town?

When the villager leaves the void they can move back in.

It's not as simple as that. You have to cycle out 16 villagers first, so it takes a while.

The Void works so that when a villager leaves town they enter whats known as the void. Once 16 villagers have been reached and another villager leaves town the most recent villager will enter the void and the oldest villager in the void will exit. That's the only knowledge of the void I have, if you want Sprinkles back you will have to cycle through the void until she leaves.

Once 16 more villagers move out of your town, they will be able to move back in. There is a "void" of 16 villagers which must be cycled through before that villager can move back in...

I thought the void contained only 2-3 of your most recent move-outs? Also, I'm not sure about this, but I think a villager leaves your void after around a week or so. That's why sometimes traders ask me how long it's been since my last move-out. Correct me if I'm wrong, though.

Edit: Nevermind, it seems the 16-cycle and the void are barely connected; everyone unadopted stays in the void regardless of how many they are there.

Cycle if you're determined to get back Sprinkles! Unless you have a lot villagers you want to keep, cycling is pretty okay. Just be careful, though c:

Until you cycle 16 villagers in & out, you will not be able to get Sprinkles back. You can talk to another one in boxes, she just won't give you the option of asking her to move in.
