Can purple + purple rose produce a white?
I?m so confused because this set produced a hybrid red last week & a couple of purple roses too (look behind, I was able to breed more purple roses)

If there?s no way this can happen, then it?s possible I mixed it up with fakes

Yes two purple hybrids can produce purple or their parent flower - white.
But it can get more complicated - so a purple rose doesn't have to have two white parents - it can have orange as one of its parents - to be hones its beyond me, haven't got enough patience to deal with hybrid breeding.

Righttt it gets so complicated. But that makes sense, I remember acquiring one of the purple rose from white parents. Someone gave me this link before for guide, it?s accurate but just doesn?t mention that part.

I?m starting to lose my patience too tbh. I?m working on blue & purple flowers for my town theme. If I end up not getting enough I?ll just buy (but this is why I end up with fakes in the first place ugh -not pointing fingers, there are people I truly trust-)

Stitchmaker often talks about a blue rose breeding guide on YouTube which worked for her - PM her, she possibly has linked to it in past posts.
Ehingen Guy has posted about hybrids - but not sure he has written a guide, both are members here on BTF.

The only things I remember (or what I would do) is take what I hoped were hybrid reds & place them into breeding trios (maybe, I've seen spacing posts - maybe by Jon_Snow?) & put fertiliser in a space between them.
Make sure you remember the pattern, so any reds produced by those hybrid reds, you take out as they won't be hybrid reds themselves (I think). And hope for the best.

I've never bought flowers, but as you say, hacked flowers do not produce hybrids just their parent flower/s.
You can ask & get non hacked ones, if I was asking I would ask here on BTF - as blue roses breed well (apparently) between themselves, you would only need 2 starter ones.

Edit: a blue & purple theme - I've done something similar with violets and pansies - blue pansies are easy; white/purple violets get from butterfly/gardening tours and they easily produce blue violets. Purple roses are also easy - so as an interim you could set this up. Still takes time tho.

It really does take time! The blue pansies were the first hybrids I ever got. But I find that I prefer the look of blue violets so I'm trying to get more of them. I've never gotten a single purple pansies too, but it's not like I tried.

For blue roses, I bought 2 legit ones because I couldn't bother to wait for my 3 red hybrids to produce 1 blue rose. And the funny part is that I'm now getting blue roses more than any hybrids in my town (even pinks are rare). The 3 red hybrids still sitting on the fence separated from everything & still haven't produced a single blue rose.

Flower breeding can be a nightmare. :< btw, if you want purple flowers I have a lot of purple tulips to give away if you want some!
