Can the town tree actually get smaller?

The question sounds silly but I've been playing one of my towns since July and the tree was coming across quite nicely until about two weeks ago when I started to play the game less often due to how busy I had been. Now, it looks like it did only a few weeks after I had started playing. So, is that a thing that happens if you stop playing the game every single day?

I doubt it since I've been pretty busy myself and therefore haven't played as often. Maybe like once a week? My tree hasn't gotten any smaller. But who knows right? It would suck if that did happen! X_X

I'm not sure, but I think it might just look smaller in autumn. It's losing leaves.

No, it doesn't get smaller. Both me and my mom have been playing the game since the morning it came out. I've reset my town so I've had several town trees, while my mother has had her tree since the beginning. She doesn't play much anymore due to a very busy work schedule. I come in her town from time to time and her tree is just as it should be with all the ivy around its trunk.

I think the reason it looks smaller is because the seasons might be changing? I don't knowww ;-;

I kinda noticed this once I was time traveling a lot my town tree was getting huge then I decided to time travel back to the actual date and my town tree shrunk .-. Still don't know why that happened

Well, the town tree I'm pretty sure goes by play time. So no idea how that happened!

But it probably looks smaller because
A. It is fall, meaning all the leaves will fall off.
Or
B. It just seems small.

I think mine might've shrunk in my main town.

I have QR designs around it, and the tree shadow usually overshadowed a row, but then after TT'ing, it seemed to overshadow a smaller area. And I'm pretty sure that the seasons didn't have anything to do with it as well :/

I don't have any pictures between then and now, but it had gotten bigger than that and now it looks like this:

I also haven't been time travelling, specifically backwards, that often. I just haven't been playing as often.

I would think that too if it weren't for the fact that the first picture was taken three months ago and I had, up until 2 weeks ago, been playing daily and it had gotten bigger.

It doesn't look like the tree trunk itself has gotten any smaller.
I'm sure once spring comes around, your tree will be the same size again with all the leaves on it.
