Can someone tell me how the TBT Marketplace and everything works?

Do you mean the collectables? (The little pictures people have on the left side under their avatar?).
If so, they are literally just things that become available in the shop every now and then. They tend to put up new ones in different seasons and a different birth stone each month. They don't actually do anything, some people just like to have them on display. Basically they're just there to look pretty
there's a pricing guide on the tbt marketplace which will give you an idea of how much people buy and sell collectables for. Some of them can go for thousands of tbt each. I haven't bothered to get any yet, can't decide what to do with my tbt at the moment.
