I'm actually having to resort to time travel, unfortunately, since I don't want to wait too long to get him back. ^^; He's one of the only decent cranky villagers to me and I had already planned to keep him beforehand. But, yeah, no luck so far. I hope someone can respond soon since I'm not sure if Fang can be held any longer. :/
