Can I skip any homes?

I'm trying to unlock all the furniture so I can use HHD as a sort of planning tool for ACNL, and so I'm trying to unlock all the furniture. I'm wondering, are there any homes I can skip while still unlocking all the furniture, or do I really have to go through everyone?

Even without actually decorating the houses, just unpacking the requested furniture, it's taking me pretty long...
