Can I plot this villager's house in this location? (Close to cliff, river and bridge)

I have a new cranky villager (Kabuki) moving in Thursday and I would love to plot him in this location.

Do you guys think it will work? The suspension bridge is to the left. The river is in front of my character. The cliff is to the right.

Here is the location:

The blue is the area surrounding the 3x3 plot.

Thank you for your advice. :)

No.

You have to have full tile spaces available on all sides for one to be able to navigate.

That blue tile, nearest the read of the game’s clock, is not a full tile.

Now, if you want to experiment—go ahead and block off everything else. Test with a move-in human. See if the incoming villager will accept the plot.

If that incoming villager does not accept the plot, that villager will force a plotting elsewhere.

I experienced this in one of my towns I did not set to a Dream Address. (It lacked overall development.) I kept trying a few more times, with a move-in human, to see if it would work. The incoming villager kept moving around his plot and avoiding where I wanted him (as it was similar to what your picture shows).

When a situation like that happens, you have to change your plan.

I wish you success with this.

Thank you; I need success, haha! I am a bit confused about trying to plot a human character house there. I thought human houses need more space due to "expansion" I think Tom Nook says?

I wonder ... if I move the entire house plot to the right (by removing the pattern entirely on the right side) if the villager might plot there and move one square closer toward the cliff. That would eliminate that troublesome box you mentioned, the one nearest the read of the game's clock. The only reason I was hoping to not plot closer to the cliff was to give an option to plant a tree there. :)

ETA: Ugh, I don't think moving it to the right will work, because then there will not be one free tile from the cliff along the right side toward the back; it will be another partial blue tile like the one that is currently near the read of the game's clock.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
When a situation like that happens, you have to change your plan.
==>> ETA: I found another location; not ideal as it is nearer my lighthouse than I would like. Will it work?
New location screenshots below. Do you guys think I left enough space for Kabuki? He moves in Thursday. Input appreciated. :)
It is two spaces from Merengue's house (Merengue on the right).
The blue squares are to keep Kabuki’s house plot lined up with Merengue's. Is it too restrictive for Kabuki to plot there? I am new at this.
From what I can see that location is possible. If anything maybe get rid of this design tile? I forget if the house needs a space in front of the door but otherwise it seems fine.
Thanks so much for your reply. :lemon:
Do you think it will be okay and still line up with Merengue’s house as long as I leave that left blue tile in place? I could remove the center tile for the door and leave the left blue tile in place so hopefully it will line up with Merengue’s house?
(The screenshot does not show Merengue’s house placement very well.)
I think you can leave the tile in front of the door and it will disappear when they plot their house there, but to be safe I usually leave that spot open. I place a pattern on both the left and right side of where the door will go, but I believe you should be fine with just the one pattern down because they won't have room to plot on that row.
Thank you! I removed that square you highlighted in red. Good catch!:D The last thing I want are plotting woes at the beginning of a new day.
Thank you! I decided to remove the “door tile” just to be on the safe side, as you said. Hopefully Kabuki will plot there. I actually would rather he plot in my original spot near the cliff, and I’m going to leave that entire area open, but I’m not optimistic. The cliff is a more remote area and, to me, more suited for where a cranky villager would live. :D
Interesting! I followed your suggestion with a throwaway character and Tom Nook said this was okay. I wonder if that means Kabuki might try to plot here. Thanks for the suggestion. I have left that area open to see if Kabuki will try it.
The location in your first post is actually viable yes, and since you can put a player house there which is 5x3, a 3x3 villager house can definitely fit there.
Good!
I have been away for a while from “New Leaf.”
I meant to say that the game wants you to have a full tile on all sides outside the plotting of a new house.
(I hope that is clear.)
