in real life
they don't break if you just water a couple o' flowers

unless urs is made out of literal paper


and slingshots

don't break

well maybe the rubber part that u pull back might ~~~~

ANYWAY

So, does anyone else think things like this?

also: random idea... maybe instead of our tools just poofing out of existence when we use them a couple of times, we could just like get a notification or whatever saying "ur shovel is damaged" or whatnot. and we could like go to nook's cranny and pay for a repair or use a crafting table and use materials to repair it ourselves.. seriously. it'd probably be a lot better that way.

ohHH alSO:: YOU KNOW how when ur SHOVEL brEaks and so ur like "COLLECT SOME HARDWOOD AND MAKE ANUDDER" so u goes to chop wood and TheN ur AXe BrEAKS anD yOu gO to collect sticks and make a new one aNd then FINALLY u get enough hardwood to make a NeW ShOVel but u DON'T HAVE ANY IRON NUGZ so then u have to w a l k all the way to ur house to get some

and the whole process takes like 10 minutes but ur too lazy to walk into nooks cranny and suck up to those 2 lil rac-brats and buy a new one

oh and i realized how timmy and tommy got rich enough to get a big store. they're earning the big cash from selling cheaply made tools that we rely on. hey, at least when the store upgrades we can spend more money for a shovel that lasts a little longer but is still cheap enough to break. heh. smart,
 
If you customize your tools with the diy customization kits every so often they won't break as quickly! I think the regular shovel has like 100 uses before it breaks, and the regular watering can around 60? Something to try at least :')

Sometimes I get fed up with crafting even if my tools so break so I just buy some spares from Nook's Cranny to have on hand. Especially if I'm playing late into the night when they're gonna close!

That's why I spend alot of time swimming and diving as it doesn't require anything that is going to break and have to run across to get a new one. I used to make my tools when I started playing but after a few months that ended and I just buy them now if I have to
 
I haaaaate that the tools break so easily and with no warning. There should at least be a warning! And I'm a firm believer that golden tools absolutely should not break. My golden slingshot never lasted any longer than the regular ones! Total waste of gold nuggets. I end up buying all my tools at Nooks now but it's a pain to have to run there every single time I break a tool. Usually I load up two of everything if I know I'm doing a project that day but still!

oh, yeah. Golden tools should not break. At least the shovel. Golly, how much dirt must you get on a fricken shovel made out of gold to BREAK it. And the slingshots? I feel like the coding in them is just fricked up anyway. It seems to me that the expensive ones you buy at Nook's and the cheap ones have about the same durability. I oughta look that up lol
 
yeah, I agree that having to go gather more materials to create a new tool is tedious :[ like you mentioned, it's much more realistic to have a durability system & being able to repair them when the tool is damaged or broken.

Now if only I knew how many times I use my shovel without having to count after every dig. :rolleyes: Nintendo, please...
 
basically just the fact that tools can break and have to be crafted is a load of bs.

This is actually a big reason why I haven't been playing much lately. the last time I played I just stopped cause I was fishing and then my raid exploded. I just gave up.

our hands are so buff from hours of gaming each day that we have lost the ability to fully release our grip on anything and therefore we break any tools we touch because, obviously, gold is a very weak and easily breakable substance. Whaaaat.... it's breakable and weak in Minecraft.... why not let it be the same for NH? adds a nice touch of detail, eh?
 
yea.... tool breaking is very frustrating.... especially on an NM island as well.

The more annoying thing is the achievement of crafting 3k tools I'm at 2300's so I'm ranting and crying with you :)


i am happy to repair tools too!
 
I do agree that the watering can shouldn't break, is amazing to me that it does while vaulting pools and ladders don't. it should be in the invincible category

bro what'd be even cooler is if they had a new NPC that worked at a tool-repair section directly outside of Nook's cranny. And even CUTER would be if it was like a mini-Isabelle, like Isabelle's niece or daughter or lil sis??? Wouldn't that be amazing xd

like a typical RPG game where you can goto a blacksmith to repair. IT WOULD BE AWESOME!
 
it forces u to slow down i guess.

it fits the animal crossing brand of take things slow, build something day-by-day so.. i dont think it'll improve unfortunately :<

i am hoping for gold tools to be made a bit more long lasting but i doubt that too
