This is my last bridge left to replace but I'm worried that if I demolish it I won't be able to rebuild because it's too close to the roost

It might be a bit hard to tell from those screenshots but they're the best I could get
The top right corner of the cafe is 5 spaces to the right and two spaces down from the edge of the bridge

I read that the extra space required to place a new bridge is 4x4, if that's right then it'll be just butting up against the corner if the cafe, but overlapping with the one space buffer around the cafe

So do you guys think I'll be able to rebuild a new bridge there? I really don't want to leave it as a cobblestone bridge but I have no idea where else I could put a new bridge in that area :/

Looks too close to me. I had a zen lamppost about the same area, just a bit up only (where the second red rose, below the top red tulip). However this was on the right side land of the bridge but I would it was count the same. It was 4 spaces away from it like you have there with the Cafe. When I demolish my bridge and wanted to put a replacement, Isabelle wouldn't let me and I had to demolish the lamp with it. Sorry. :/

This bridge thing with placement really needs to be fixed in the next game....

EDIT: Here, but just on the other side of the bridge.

If you demolish a bridge, it will still count as one of your 30 pwps D: even if it is gone

I think that it'll be too close as well. If it's overlapping with the one space buffer, it's definitely not going to work. As far as I know, that buffer is still considered to be part of the building. It's not a free space.

I think that the distance between your bridge and the Roost is exactly the same as that of my first cobblestone bridge and a nearby villager's house. When I demolished the bridge, I couldn't put the bridge exactly in the same spot, but it was fine if I moved it up one square, so I think you're literally one space away from it being okay.

Edit: This is the bridge and house in question I was talking about. It wouldn't let me build the bridge one tile lower (where the original birdge was), but this was fine. If I'm seeing your picture correctly, it looks like your bridge would have to be shifted one tile up to match mine, but I'm not sure if it can be moved up further.

Yep, it looks too close. Barely, so close. The corner of the cafe's buffer and the corner of the bridge buffer would overlap, yes. If you demolished it, you probably won't be putting it back in the same place. I'm sowwie. :c

Thanks guys, I thought so :(

I don't think there's room to put it one space up

If I can put it vertically where that one tulip on its own is then I'd be happy with that but I suspect it'd have to go diagonally there
Anywhere else has the same problem of overlapping with the cafe's buffer

I might just have to put it in diagonally, I'm pretty sure it'd work there :/

If anyone could do me a huge favour and visit my dream town and see if there's anywhere along that side of my map where a bridge might work I'd really appreciate it. I can't see anywhere except diagonally there or diagonally at the bottom of the map

Yeah that's right :c It sucks, I have no idea why.

Wish I'd known that before I demolished mine only to discover I had to rebuilt it in the exact same location as the last one...man, I really, really don't want to reset. :/

This is because when you start your town, your first bridge is technically a free PWP--30+1freebie. You can build up to 30 just fine with it pre-existing. If you knock it down though, you really will cap at 30.

Or, at least that's how I was. I'm unsure of this, as it was rumored to have been patched? I haven't seen any actual press releases for patches though.
